How to Price Your Draping Services (Without Undercharging)
Hey tribe 👋
Let’s talk about one of the most uncomfortable but most necessary parts of building a draping business: pricing your services.
I know what it’s like to feel like you’re charging too much… or worrying that someone will say “that’s too high.” But sis, you didn’t start a business to stay broke. You started it to win.
So let’s break down how to price your draping services with confidence—without guessing, undercharging, or giving away luxury looks at DIY prices.
1. Know Your Value (and Your Costs)
Before you even touch a calculator, I need you to get this:
You are not just hanging fabric. You are designing experiences, setting the tone of the room, and elevating events from basic to breathtaking.
Start by identifying your real costs:
Materials: fabric, clips, poles, bases, florals, tiebacks, embellishments
Labor: your time to load, transport, set up, break down, and your team
Travel: mileage, gas, hotel (if needed), food on the road
Equipment maintenance: replacements, storage units, wear & tear
Administrative: CRM, scheduling tools, email platform, booking software
And don’t forget: Profit is not what’s “left over.” It needs to be part of your pricing structure from the beginning.

2. Stop Pricing Emotionally (You’re Not Your Competition)
The worst thing you can do is price based on what someone else is charging or what you think your client can afford.
Instead:
Use cost-based pricing as your baseline
Add your time, creative skill, and premium positioning
Factor in client type – a DIY bride vs. a luxury planner has totally different expectations

3. Offer Tiered Packages for Clarity & Upsell Power
Stop quoting “a backdrop” at $400. Show the value by packaging!
Examples:
Basic Backdrop Package: 10ft wide, interlock + sheer panels, setup & teardown
Luxe Layered Package: 16ft wide, premium fabric, florals, tiebacks, delivery included
Signature Package: 20ft+, chandelier, ceiling draping, velvet or specialty fabrics
This helps clients self-select and gives you an easy upsell path.
👉 Inside the Raising the Bar Mentorship, I break down how to create these packages and present them with confidence.
4. Include Setup Fees, Deposits, and Rush Rates
You need to clearly outline:
Setup & teardown charges (especially for outdoor or ceiling installs)
Delivery fees
Deposit terms (50% or flat-rate holds)
Rush/last-minute or weekend/holiday rates

5. Use a Booking System (and Track Everything)
You can’t grow what you don’t measure.
I use the Posh Academy Pro CRM to track:
Inquiries
Confirmed bookings
Quotes sent
Payment collection
Follow-up sequences
Having a system = more confidence, more conversions, and no more chasing coins. Period.
Final Word:
You don’t have to guess at your prices anymore.
You don’t have to undercharge just to get booked.
You deserve to earn from your gifts and grow a sustainable, profitable business.
