Riches in the Niches: How to Pick A Niche For Your Business

by Precious Stevens on March 15, 2022

Do you know how to pick a niche for your premium draping business?

In case you don’t know, a niche is like a specialty. It’s the one thing that you want to be known for in your industry. Believe it or not, the more you niche down, the more money you make in your business. Period. So, how do YOU find YOUR niche? Keep reading to see just how rich you can get if you niche. Knowing how to pick a niche for your premium draping business can set you apart from the competition, and I want you to get allll this tea, sis. Let’s get to it.

Knowing how to pick a niche is a lot like being in love.

Don’t turn your nose up sis, hear me out first! When you’re in love…and I’m talking about that good ol’ cupcake puppy love, you’re super vested in the relationship. It takes up your time, your effort, and you start finding out everything you can about your new significant other. Before long, you can call yourself an expert on your new boo. After all the social media stalking (no judgments!) and time spent, why not? Your happy, you’re in love, and it’s allll good. You keep investing the time, and when it’s reciprocated and beneficial to you…you thrive. Your niche is kind of the same thing. You become so vested in a certain area that you can be considered an expert. And to be blunt, people love doing business with experts. Think about it. If you had to have a major operation done, are you gonna want the first-year nurse who has barely touched a patient to work on you or the 15-year veteran who is a specialist that ONLY does that type of operation? EXACTLY. I know its a bit extreme, but you get the picture. When you label yourself as an expert in a particular field, then you put yourself on a pedestal and THE go-to person for that particular thing.

Now, for me, I’ve niched down to only focus on doing backdrops.

That’s what I love. It’s what I’m good at. It’s what I can do all day with no pressure. I live it, I breathe it, and I can talk about it without missing a beat. Now, you may not like backdrops. You might only like doing full room draping. Or, maybe you only like doing backdrops for baby showers. Or maybe you only like doing pipe and drape for big corporate events. And guess what? That is perfectly fine.

Everyone has something that they’re crazy about when it comes to how to pick a niche.

It’s up to you to figure out what your niche is and where you want your focus. The best way to go about it is to think about what you love the most like I did. What is an area that you’re willing to study, practice, and become an expert in? What do YOU want to focus on in your premium draping business? THAT my friend is where you need to niche down to. Focus on that, and become the best person YOU know that can do it. It’s just that simple. Don’t try to be good at everything. Niche down and focus on the ONE thing that you want to be great at. If draping is it, then you need to attend one of my 1-Day Labor-Intensive Live Workshops. I teach you how to command premium prices for your work, attract higher-paying clients, and stand out from the crowd of other event professionals. I’m doing a tour across the U.S., so make sure you check to see when I’m coming near you. Tell me what niche you are thinking about and put it in the comments.
