How to pick the best colors for Spring in 2022

Spring is in the air! The flowers are blooming, the sun is shining, and people are getting out of their houses. With this new season comes some new designs that you can use to spruce up your portfolio. You may be wondering, “Precious, what are the best colors to use for spring palettes this year?” Girl, step into my office and get this quick tea. Let me show you my quick guide to the best colors to use for Spring palettes in 2022.

What are the best colors for Spring in 2022?

Alright, let’s get into these colors. Spring is all about looking fresh, light, bold, and flowery. We’re finally moving past the dull, dark winter, and we’re ready for the cute stuff that makes people smile. And it makes sense, right? After being cold for months, we’re ready to get into warmer colors. What better inspiration for the essence of Spring than beautiful flowers? Since flowers are what Spring is all about, you want to mimic some of those same palettes with your designs. Sooooo what does that look like?

Spring Color #1: Pastels

First, you got your pastels. Pastels are one of the best colors for Spring because they automatically put you into a softer, flowery mindset. While Winter and even Fall call for bold, dark shades, your pastels can bring a pop of color without overpowering the rest of the design. Because pastels are already subtle, there’s no need to pair them with contrasting colors. It’s best to do a more monochromatic theme with this one. Go with blues, greens, and pinks for your pastel palettes, and you’ll be good to go.

Spring Color #2: Bright Colors

Next, you got your bright colors. What is Spring without your yellows, oranges, and other bright “look at me” colors? In stark contrast from the colder months, springs allow you to have some more fun with the brighter color palettes. You can use complementary colors or, like with the pastels, you can go with something more monochromatic. The possibilities are practically endless. If ever you’re in doubt for what are the best colors for Spring, bright colors are always a good option.

Spring Color #3: Shimmer

Lastly, if you’re feeling froggy, you got your shimmery prints. Don’t be scared of a little sparkle, boo! Shimmer prints are the best colors for Spring because they are perfect for creating texture. When incorporated with a more muted, calmer fabric, shimmery colors can add some pizzazz to your designs without you needing to get too fancy. In the spirit of Spring, go with lighter, brighter colors that can make a statement. Now that you know which colors are best to use for Spring, the next step will be to go over your textures. We’ll talk more about that next week. In the meantime, make sure you check out my new spring line that’s about to launch on April 1.
